Quality Training

Successful fork lift truck apprentices receive the IMI Modern Apprenticeship in Fork Lift Truck Maintenance and Repair.

This is an internationally recognised standard, leading to an Advanced apprenticeship at Level 3.

Training is delivered, managed and approved by F-TEC and the IMI (Institute of Motor Industry):

The Fork Lift Truck Association (FLTA)

The FLTA is the UK’s independent authority on fork lift trucks. It represents well over 200 leading dealers, manufacturers and suppliers, making it the biggest body of its kind in Europe.

British Industrial Truck Association (BITA)

BITA is the UK’s trade association for fork lift truck manufacturers and suppliers, suppliers of associated components and services and the materials handling media.

Forklift Training Engineering Centre (F-TEC)

F-TEC delivers training at their dedicated FLT premises in Swindon. Its trainers are among the most experienced in the UK.

The Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI)

The IMI is the professional institute for individuals working in the automotive industry. The Institute is the Sector Skills Council for the automotive retail industry (including the fork lift truck sector) and the governing body for the Automotive Technician Accreditation (ATA) scheme.

Throughout your training, you’ll also be working closely with experienced fork lift truck experts at your place of work – giving you the best possible start to your new career as a qualified lift truck service engineer.
